The only thing on this disc 1 is X11 which I did install but it had
nothing of Xcode.

But I've now tried the unlabelled Disc 2 and there it is!  I should have
looked a bit harder; an excuse is that there was nothing on Xcode in the
manual or its index or the help texts that I could find.

We are trying to make these instructions idiot proof, are we not?
Sounds like we're off to a good start.
