Ok. So an exit() takes the whole interpreter with it, no more SIGSEV. Sounds 
good. I'll see what I can come up with.

Sure. I'm more a fan of KISS either, i.e., if Ruby doesn't work, keep it out 
until it works. Ruby bindings are another thing altogether, meaning that the 
API is much more stable...
