Since the update in rawhide went quite smoothly, I'd like to update
x264 and FFmpeg in F-10, too (basically backport the version that
landed in rawhide).

I hope I can build x264 and ffmpeg and keep them in the buildroot,
but out of updates-testing until all dependent packages are rebuilt,
just like we did in rawhide.

I have mixed feelings about updating them in F-9, though.

for ffmpeg:
+ dvbcut (if it hits RPM Fusion F-9 or F-10 before you update).

In F10, I think it is reasonable to update. The total download isn't all that big is it ?

I did see someone on fedora-list, asking how do a manipulate .rmvb files (join). ffmpeg site changelog shows RM 3/4 support on 2008-12-20 or so, so that might get the improvements that would improve playback cpability for that kind of file.
