I don't metion you need to retire/obsolete it, just rename melt to some other names, e.g. freeze-melt or whatever you like. FYI, Fedora policy also consider file conflict in 3rd repo. See http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Conflicts#Potential_Conflicting_Files Also, I think more packages depends on melt in mlt than melt in freeze. Renaming melt in mlt is really a bad idea because it cause divergence between fedora and upstream or other linux distributions.
