Michael, I have both the free and nonfree repos enabled. The issue has arisen because I installed k3b through 'Add/Remove Software' and, on first use, it warned that it could not find the mp3 decoder. libmad is already installed, so I then tried installing the rpmfusion extras as described. If I could figure out how to discover what is depending upon the fc12 version of libfaad, I could uninstall that and retry the rmpfusion install, but I don't know how to discover dependencies like that.
