But the Debian archive can hold only one version of r-base-core and rpy at the same time (per 'distro', ie 'stable', 'testing' and 'unstable' can each have one, but only one). Gievn the number of users of rpy, and the (much larger) number of users of R, I cannot let R be held hostage by Rpy blockage so I will not enforce an equality constraint. Sorry, but it just didn't work well enough when I tried in the past.
