This is now fixed, and 2.0.9 uploaded.

That version is essentially the "somehow missing fix" (I still did not
totally identify the root cause) plus a fix for a build problem
discovered by Michael Biebl. The next regular version is probably
2.1.0, which I am working on in parallel.
