As pointed out by many, NT is not a real-time OS, just as Linux!
You should compare the RT extension of Linux with NT extended with RTX.
RTX (from VenturCom, see www.vci.com) makes an excellent hard real-time
OS out of NT, in many areas superior to RTLinux: most kernel functions are
also available in the RTX environment (e.g. using semaphores is no problem)
and a "kernel" routine can easily be tested in "user" space first.
I would like to invite the RTLinux developers to take a look at RTX, which
is similar to RTLinux, but a lot more user/programmer friendly.
