I'm a bit new to rt-linux, so this suggestion may be off track, but I would
suggest changing your modules so that they respond to either input from a fifo
or, if you can manage it, an interrupt. I would think that a fifo handler would
tend to execute within some hundreds of microseconds, although I haven't tested
that....
