Hi!

I played a little around with the interrupt latency of my card and SMP:

MPS1.1:
    works with my motherboard (CUV4X-D) with RTL and Linux 2.2 & 2.4.
    Interrupt latency: ~40us

MPS1.4:
    doesn't work with the motherboard with Linux 2.4 in 50% of the cases
    ==> 2.4 not used
    interrupt latency with 2.2.19 and RTL3.1: ~20us

When I work with a mixture of hardware based timing and polling I can
get latencies (now without interrupt latency) of 1-4 us ...

Has anyone similar experiences (or the opposite - then I'm sure that my
motherboard is weird)?

Wasn't one of the goals of the whole APIC architecture reducing latencies???

Thanks for any answer
Stefan
