Hi
   Phil -

It is important for you and others to also contact Xilinx tech support and indicate
your interest in doing work with these tools.
Alfred Rodriguez who responded, was very supportive of the idea of open VHDL based
designs running on Xilinx devices.

His summery of management though was one of indications that we should make our
collective interests more apparent
to upper level management.... I.e. each one of us should go to the Xilinks tech
support page at

http://support.xilinx.com/support/techsup/northam.htm

And ask about when we will have Xilinx Alliance tools for support of there Vertex FPGA
designs under Linux.

This will begin to wake them up!
