Hi,
This is a little bit strange question on this list, but ...
I have here a couple of I/O cards with 8255 on them (actually NEC
D71055l-10). The problem is that quite often people shortcircut its
outputs to the ground, or to +5V, or to another output. Usually the chip
is dead then. I am looking for a replacement of these NEC chips from
another manufacturer which would be much less sensitive to such problems.
I don't really care about the output current (i don't need much), but I
really need a chip which survives shortcircuits (lasting 1 - 2 seconds
typically).
Thanks in advance,
Jacek.
P.S. No chance to protect these chips on board. All outputs are directly
     connected to the 8255. Jacek.
