modprobe vfat
I think this is caused by different .config file - look especially at KMOD
option. BTW. original RH config files can be found at /usr/src/linux/configs
Copy it to your RT Linux kernel source directory, run make oldconfig
make dep
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
copy bzImage somewhere to /boot, install LILO, test.
