maby others ahve better experience with the Geode - would be interested to here what others found. From the documentation and the benchmarks of the system it does look like a hardware problem that can't easaly be resolved. some of the prolbems: *) it uses SMI's quite a lot *) the video-memory is located in main memmory *) it's FPU performance is rotten *) reading the system clock is slow ... you will see worst case scheduling jitter on an idle system of a few hundred mycroseconds up to a few miliseconds (on my board I got 2.2 milliseconds worst case rt-scheduling jitter on a idle system). if you can live with 2ms jitter then its perfectly fine - the periferals it provides are fine and power consumption is also quite ok - it's just not a CPU I would recomend for general rt-usage. hofrat -- [rtl] --- To unsubscribe: echo "unsubscribe rtl" | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] OR echo "unsubscribe rtl <Your_email>" | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- For more information on Real-Time Linux see: http://www.rtlinux.org/
