So the master is configured for precisely this one slave?

Any kernel messages after the completed RTcfg setup? Any interrupts
arriving on the RT NICs on both sides? Have you checked for IRQ
conflicts on the master side? Do both systems work over a longer time (a
few dozens of packets) without using RTmac/RTcfg, just directly rtpinging?
