Dear Mailing List,

System:

OpenSuse 11.2

=>       Kernel: 2.6.31.8

=>       Real Time Extension: RTAI 3.8

=>       Rtnet 0.9.12

Hardware:

Computer1

Network Controller: Realtek RTL-8169

Computer2

Network Controller: Intel pro/1000 GT 82541PI

My problem is while the startup. If I use the Network Controller Realtek RTL-8169 as Master and the Network Controller Intel pro/1000 as slave there are no problems.

However by the time I switch the role of both Network Controllers (Intel pro/1000 = MASTER, Realtek RTL-8169 = SLAVE), I get only the terminal messages:

Waiting for all slaves…

AND

Stage 1: searching for master…

Stage 2: waiting for other slave…

Stage 3: waiting for common setup completion…

Both Computers are returning, but they don’t send synchronisation messages. I suspected it depends on the network controller “Intel pro/1000”. As result of this, I tried to use the module rt_e1000_new instead of rt_e1000 but without success.

Here are the configurations I use while the installation (for Intel pro/1000):

./configure --with-rtext=/usr/realtime --with-linux=/usr/i586-suse-linux --with-rtext-config=/usr/realtime/bin/rtai-config --prefix=/usr/realtime/rtnet --enable-udp --enable-examples --enable-rtcap

Thanks for help

Kind Regards

Sebastian
