If you want to install DCC sound in the SW-1 and/or F3, go to S-Helper's
website. Hit the link to the SW-1 and the link to the article will appear.
For the F3, go to the "tips and tricks" section.
For my SW-1, I followed Michael Greene & Bill Clark's excellent directions
and hard-wired a Lenz 1024 & Soundtraxx DSX with speaker. It was a PAIN
because you do not have much room to install everything, but it sounds and
runs great. When Soundtraxx releases the Diesel Tsunami, this install
should be much simpler. There may be enough room for a plug-in installation
(I hope - I have one more unit to do)
For my F7's (I bought my F3's with the DCC Sound but they are very similar),
I followed Don's advice mentioned in an earlier post to create plugs out of
the DC Shorting plug. The manual does a great job of explaining the socket
locations so this is not a hard job to do if you are handy with a soldering
gun.
