I just received my SHS Consolidation decorated for Southern Railway #722 in
its excursion paint scheme of the 1970's and later. It is absolutely
magnificent. I also have the Flyonel Mikado painted for Southern's 4501and in
the
excursion paint scheme. Its also very nice.

Those of you who operate either of these locos in paint schemes other than
Southern will probably want to put freight cars behind them. But those of us
with either of these locomotives painted for Southern Railway need passenger
cars to operate like the prototype. This email is addressed to those operators.

I am curious about you are putting behind these locos and would appreciate
your email responses on-group of off-group.

Let me share that I intend to use the Southern Railway heavyweight coaches
and baggage car decorated in the Pullman olive-green paint scheme (not the
Crescent Limited scheme) that were offered by AM/SHS in the early 1990's. I
have
modified these coaches by substituting 6 wheel trucks. (They look funny with
the 4 wheel trucks on a Southern heavyweight). I may also mix in a couple of
AM Budd coaches to represent the stainless steel cars that Southern added to
the excursion consist after operation of the Southern Crescent was taken over
by
Amtrak.
