September 29th, 1954 was the day the first game of the 1954 World Series was
played.
This was the game that Willie Mays made THE CATCH in center field in the Polo
Grounds in
New York.
Since this was quite a ballgame to begin with (it was a 2-2 tie in the top of
the 8th when
Mays made the catch and kept the lead runner from scoring from second with his
INCREDIBLE throw back to the infield), I figured that this would be a good
ballgame to
listen to during the inaugural op session on the western section of the
Scranton Division of
the Lackawanna Railroad.
I just hope I can pull of building this railroad. :)
