An afterthought, I used to sprinkle groundcover on wet paint but have 
concluded the adhesion is too low. So I paint the area, let it dry, paint on 
white glue thickly and then sprinkle on ground foam. When that dry's I then 
do the wet water and diluted glue routine. Often there's enough glue on the 
ground cover that you can sprinkle on a bit of any other colour you would 
like to incorporate. In forested areas, I use dry tea leaves from used bags 
to look like chunks of wood wastes and general crud. but just about anything 
will do.
