Hi S-heads!

Been a while since I've dropped in and said much, sooooo... here's a
rambling update (of sorts):

I am convinced that I am the laziest modeler that exists. Even THINKING
about doing some serious modeling takes me days to work up to. <g>

HOWEVER... I am still hoping to pursue my lil' KC Lines theme via S scale.
In all, I think it's a good theme for such a small area that will be fun to
operate ONCE FUNCTIONAL.

Currently on the workbench is a pair of undec AM Baldwin S12's that are
being lightly modified in order to fit-in nicely with the SHS switcher power
that will eventually work alongside them. I still have a third undec S12,
but haven't decided what to do with it just yet. The CB&Q S12 will stay
like it be for now.

One of the undec S12's already has the handrail holes plugged and smoothed,
and is awaiting a decision from me on how to do the "Y" stanchion assembly
that is to be on the ends. The other is being left alone for now until I
see how this "Y" thing goes. If desperate, I can fall back and use the
AM-supplied oversized handrails with its "Y" thing.

I am convinced that batch runs are both a blessing and a curse. They're a
blessing in that the product has the opportunity to eventually appear in a
desirable roadname. (More so than offering year-in year-out stock liveries,
as Athearn used to do "way back when".) However, they're a curse in that if
you MISSED a desirable road name... you're likely screwed. (Especially in S
scale.)

Purchasing "desirable" roadnames was hoped for as a means to quickly
populate the layout with acceptably decored RTR equipment. However, having
pursued such a course now for a couple months, I can say that it's not
really practical. The long-gone stuff comes through on eBay about as often
as a sale on air conditioners in Hades. I WILL be painting/lettering
equipment. Oh well.

Good to see some new guys joining the list. Welcome aboard and have fun.

So, there you have it... some tales from the lazy side of modeling.
