Gents --
I have begun the process of deciding which locomotives I will sell to fund my
conversion to DCC. First up is an AM GG1, shown in our e-group's "photos"
section in an album entitled "PRR GG1 for sale." This like-new locomotive, DC,
scale wheels, five-stripe Brunswick Green, has the following added features:
1. Added and painted ladders at each side door
2. Added Kadee 802 couplers
3. Altered chassis per article in "S/Sn3 Modeling Guide." This involved
rigidly affixing the pilot chassis to the main truck chassis and laterally
slotting the pilot truck bolsters. The end result makes the model more
realistic on curves by cutting by 50% the lateral displacement of the nose with
respect to the pilot. It also eliminates the unpleasant-looking continual
"hunting" done by the pilot as the loco moves along the track.
4. Added circuitry and a hidden slide switch that allows current to be drawn
from catenary at the owner's option.
Price for this loco is $325 postpaid. If no takers, it will go on eBay.
