Hi Ron...Welcome to the club! The rest of us are STILL pumped about
your operating diaphragms. Might it be possible to re-pump you up
once again?

Ron...

When the heck was that? A "gaggle" -- ya gotta be kidding.

S scale has had plastic heavyweights from AM, Budd cars from AM,
brass heavyweights (really heavy) from SouthWind, smoothside
streamliners from AM, full scale length Pullman cars from NASG and
AM, full scale length Budd cars on the way (I think) from Kaslo
Shops, AF heavyweight conversions, AF Budd cars, full scale length
Budd cars from Chester/JC Silversides, and probably a few other
brands that have been forgotten with the passage of time -- like
Loizeaux's plastic-impregnated cardboard streamliners. Now THERE was
a car! And Train Stuff's resin kits, etc. While not all are in
current production, most do show up on eBay from time to time and
lots of 'em are now on our various layouts running around without
benefit of nice operating diaphragms. Da market is here and waiting.

That's a "S"hame since the tooling was allegedly finished when the
prototype model was shown at the Long Beach NMRA convention decades
ago. If the tooling is finished as was stated, the cost of tooling
is no longer a factor. Is there a chance for making just one
production run of these operating diaphragms? It would seem to me
that if you run Budd trucks in plastic when there are no Budd cars to
run with them, that making diaphragms when there are thousands of
passenger cars waiting for them would not be all that risky.

But then again, I am just a casual observer of the S scene. And it
ain't my money. Is there some magic number of pre-orders that would
entice you to fire up the melting pot and squirting machine and make
a run of the diaphragms? Even though you don't want to, can we
search for a way to change your mind?

Thanks....Ed L.
