A web site needs someone to pay for its creation, domain name, hosting and
maintenance.

Seems to me that there are three ways to get this done:

1) An S "angel" who will foot the bill out of the goodness of his/her heart.

2) Sponsors, such as S manufacturers and/or dealers who want the exposure
that would surely come with such a site.

3) Subscription, wherein we all pay XXX $ to be members.

It would take quite a bit of hands-on oversight, considering that there
might be dozens or hundreds of additions monthly, and someone would have to
make the decision as to what would be archived or deleted., length of
articles and size of photos, drawings, etc. If some files were archived,
that means there would need to be more storage space somewhere, either on
site or off. In other words, the site would require at least a part time
editor. It could turn into a lot of work. Would this editor be paid for all
his/her efforts? Remains to be seen.

But it sure could be an excellent vehicle for exchange of ideas and photos
and for one would love to see it.

Cheers :)

Subject: {S-Scale List} S scale magazine

 Hey all,

I was wondering why, (probably due to my lack of knowledge), a website
wouldn't work? Somewhere that each modeler could upload articles to, how to
features, product reviews, all overseen by some sort of moderator? Have no
idea, just and idea to throw out there.
