My Name is Bill Fraley, and I'm a model railroader.
I model in many facets of this hobby. Actually, I have qualified for several
NMRA Achievement Awards and if I wasn't spending a lot of my time with this
daily list, reading non S scale modelers knocking our great S scale, I would
have more time to apply for at least five more awards making me a NMRA Master
Model Railroader. Actually, I have two Achievement Awards modelers from the
Mid- Eastern region after me to write up the papers so they may come to my home
and appraise my efforts for these awards.
Several lists ago, one posted a message of how lousy our list is. I couldn't
believe it, I highly recommend that person who refused to give his true name
should get off our list if that is the way he feels.
I'm also very happy for the 3/16th Modeling Guide publisher who put this
unnamed modelers message on the list. He said he now has one more subscriber.
WOW! He is now by his own admission up to 291 subscribers. This to a magazine
that we wonder if another issue will ever be published? Talk about a waste of
money?
Why do we call ourselves S gaugers? Because we are S Gaugers and we are darn
proud of it! We know we are a minority in model railroading scales and most
likely will always be, so what! "We LOVES our S Scale!"
Why do we read this list daily? Because we also like to learn about new ideas,
web-site's, how to fix things, what others are doing and manufacturers that our
fellow S gaugers have found throughout our nation, those that know nothing
about. My "Favorites file" is loaded with them!
If you don't have anything positive to say about our list, or about our S Gauge
modeling.... You don't belong here.
We have 815 members on this "S Scale" list alone and 1375 S Gauge members on
our "S trains" list.
I would say this is a very successful item!
Frankly, I want to recommend that our moderators become more strict, and when
someone sends out a negative message like I've recently seen happening, that
they get one warning, then if they continue , they get banned.
This action would be for the betterment of all and especially our beloved S
gauge!
Sincerely,
Bill Fraley
