Dear Bill,
Several times we have had point to point layouts. Once in Jersey
City at Liberty State Park. We used the corners to create a very long
point to point with yards at either end and a station module in the
center. The layout was in a stair configuration using all 4 corners
and straight modules in between. As spectators gathered around the
modules, you could not see from one end to the other. The train left
one end and disappeared in the crowd to slowly stop in the center
train station (for the push pull passenger train) and then the
terminus at the other end. The operators had to keep on there toes.
It was much more interesting to operate. With today's DCC, it would
have been much easier as you would not need all of the rotary switches
to work the yards around the road freights.
Best,
Don
