Ed,

For about 25 years there have been ongoing layout tours in the 50 + - mile
radius from me. MANY layouts are open over the course of about 6 weeks
starting in late October. I would be more apt to go to an O scale layout. I
would be pushed into going to an HO layout, and probably would not go for
any reason to an N Scale layout.

There is also a separate group that is the most local level of the NMRA that
does similar tours 5 times a year. You don't even have to be in the NMRA.
They pick an small area from Trenton to Millville (60 miles) and open 5
layouts on a Saturday afternoon. We are pretty concentrated with layouts in
my area. I used to go a lot. I got tired of going to the Imaginary & Make
Believe HO railroad. I know of about 5 or so layouts ONLY (mostly HO) that I
would go to 1-3 times a year without question. They rest do not need me...

But for the most part I do not go to layout tours any more. It takes a LOT
to impress me.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
