NYC Pacemaker boxcars all had black grab irons and black ladders, on sides and
ends. Their side sills immediately beneath the doors were red, a six-foot
portion matching the door width.
The only externally-applied thing on the car that's two-tone red and grey is
the retainer air line at the "B" end.
