Tom Baker et al --
I have built Railmaster RS-1 and RS-2 kits. Both came with truck sideframes
included. For the RS-1, I used an AM RS-3 chassis. It was not a simple job.
I had to mill away the sides and ends of the AM chassis to get it to fit within
the Railmaster superstructure frame. And I had to mill away much of the
underbody in order to install the RS-1 fishbellies. Also, the AM motor is a
force fit inside the RS-1 hood. (I soldered the body together.) It's so tight
that I use it exclusively to hold the superstructure to the chassis -- No
screws, no glue.
I built the RS-2 for someone else, utilizing the pewter tabs included with the
kit that are designed to hold the North Yard chassis in place.
