I sent a note to John Kelly at the Washington Post about the situation with my cow on the layout and the big earthquake of Germantown, 2010. It seems he is interested in this, as he is a local columnist in the Metro page. I have emailed him before about things. And this is front page material. LOL

LOL Mike -------- Original Message -------- *Subject: * Earthquake Damage *Date: * Mon, 19 Jul 2010 16:30:59 -0400 *From: * mlmarmer _<[email protected]>_ <mailto:[email protected]> *To: * [email protected]_ <mailto:[email protected]> John, I live in Germantown, MD about 2 miles from the epicenter of the quake that happen Friday morning. All reports have come in to all the media that no one was hurt nor was there any damage, which is great. But I have to report this to someone that a cow on my train layout I am building that will be in a National Toy Train magazine fell over, as I know this for a fact. I took pictures of my newly completed farm with assorted cows at it and all cows where standing. On Saturday, I finished making RR ties to have abandon along the layout as with real RRs, you see discarded old ties lying about the tracks as they are replaced with new ones. I showed my wife on Saturday and she said ''Look, a cow fell over! Must be due to the earthquake we had" as I showed her the completed farm on Thursday night and all was well then, as all cows where standing upright. So, please have the presses stop and have this as front page news as soon as possible. Actually to be serious, I was really lucky that we really did not have any damage, as I have 300 antique glass milk bottles all over the house. The above about the cow is a complete true story but in fun. By the way, you had a story about the Hotel Harrington in DC. For years they had a billboard as you went south on I-95 in Delaware for the hotel, hoping that people going to DC would stay at the hotel.
