Hi Bert...

As with most freight cars, these gondola cars traveled all over the country and
carried all kinds of loads. There is photographic proof these cars carried all
sorts of granular loads such as sand, gravel and even sugar beets. All these
loads were efficiently discharged through the trap doors in the floor. Other
photos clearly show logs, pipes and scrap metal as loads in this gondola.

It is clear that the gondola was used all over the place including eastern
roads. The builder of this car says there is one rusting away somewhere on an
obscure siding in or near Chicagoland. Bob Hogan (I think) says they were seen
in the Atlanta area. One fellow claims to have a photo showing this car in the
New England area.

Given all of the evidence, it is my personal belief that you should send in
some money to cover at least two of these cars -- one loaded and one empty.
The empty car will enable the viewer to see the trap doors and associated
latches and hardware.

We await your order. We take no prisoners when it comes to selling these cars.
Hope you can tolerate my almost-funny sense of humor.

Take care...Ed L.
