And I recall sitting in the backyard one day studying a regular AM gear 
tower and a half-speed gear tower.  It took a long time to see the 
difference.  All is identical except the worms (the helical things).  I 
believe one has a double helix, the other a single.  It was a Eureka moment. 
I wrote it up, Bill W published it, and Ron B said when the article came out 
he got a lot of orders for the slow speed worm.

Some say it gets the AM locos down to approximately the same speed as SHS 
locos.

But to get back to the original problem, I think the gentleman has a DCC 
speed table problem.
