I have used 5 and 10 power Optivisers for 40 years or more on my model railroad
and architectural models. Even with my glaucoma. I now have a hole in my
right eyeball for fluid pressure release. They took the cataract out at the
same time. Final results not in yet

If you ever noticed in people that their eyes vary in the distance apart. I
have never seen optivisers where you can change the "spread". Maybe the
distance between your eyeballs relates to the model gauge you pick.

The amount of beer also influences that.

Some people get headaches and or eye strain when wearing head-mounted
magnifiers for long periods of time. The basic reason for this is a mismatch
between the lenses and the eyeballs. For true comfort, the distance between
your eyeballs must match the distance between the magnifier lenses. If not,
trouble results. Various brands of magnifiers have different distances between
the lenses and so it would be best to measure/verify things before plunking
down your money. Have fun reading the fine print. Cheers....Ed L.
