Fortunately, some people think of TCA or RRMPA as receivers of paper and
artifacts they don't want, can't dispose of, OR need a tax position on. ANY
historical organization should be able to further direct materials to a
better destination than a dumpster ( and possibly profit from it ), BUT,
spouses/family members need to know this can be done. A good friend passed
some years ago, his wife had NO idea his stuff was to go to a specific
auctioneer, OR that he had talked to him (or his buddies) about it.
When GONERAIL (Conrail) started the wholesale destruction of buildings,
offices, storage facilities, I know several people got pick-up truck loads of
blueprints, repair manuals etc. I hope they will eventually travel to a
home where they can be used for the "better good".
