My point was NOT that RMC ran the feature, not that even the previous major suppliers (AM, SHS, SSA/DPH, and even Lionel) stay in the black by catering to the AF-compatible market, but that the RMC--let me repeat that, RMC--readership is primarily full-scale, albeit more HO and N than S or even O scale, and that presenting the more-inclusive (as some call it, the NASG) portrait is likely to gain few new converts there. In fact, most will likely conclude that the higher-level of detail on even N scale equipment is superior to what S scale offers, so what would be the point in changing. In a more general or toy train venue, the article would have been perfectly fine, perhaps even causing some of those readers to pause and think "S scale looks pretty realistic compared with what I'm using now," just as AF often trumped Lionel in the ca. 1950 period where prospective buyers had a real choice in what they bought.
