Rusty, It's possible that I am older than you, certainly not wiser. >From my understanding, however, SuperScale came first and with a few >modifications PermaBilt followed. I have a GM&O 40' box car constructed from >a PermaBilt kit. I'm not finished yet and am using different ends. I have >thought of striping the silk screened sides and using a GM&O decal from Jerry >Glow and then adding Archer rivet decals in places where some rivets should be >visible and after that repainting and decaling the car. Have you ever tried >that?

Who was first, ok, not who's on first, who was first, Perma Built or Super Scale? As crazy as it may sound I enjoy building them. State of the art, YES! For 1955, but not for today. All of the trucks that came with these kits that I have are ok, I had some in the past that suffered from, 'Zinc pest" though I have enough of the double door 40 foot auto box but could use a 50 foot auto box or a 42 foot reefer if some one has one of either kit they would sell.
