Bob’s version of FNF was interesting. I have one of those K-27’s (they
were not cheap, nearly $700 as I recall) and they were produced in the mid-
80’s, I think. Now he really has “affordable” K-27’s that are fully ready
to go with DCC and all the tricks... Who knew nearly 30 years ago that
such an animal would exist? S and Sn3 have come a long ways since the
early 1980’s! Yet, we are still dealing with supply issues.... I agree
with Bob W. -- had SHS come out with the F's in NP two tone green, I would
have had to find a way to use them, especially if they had the "Northern
Pacific" applied lettering across the B unit grill!
This week saw more progress on the coal transfer complex on the SLE&P.
Pretty much all the buildings and conveyors are placed, though not finished.
Now I can rough in the terrain behind the complex (Scenery!!) and finish out
the buildings off the railroad as I can find the time.
Have fun!

... I think both AM and SHS missed the boat by not painting their respective
diesels in those NP colors (I would have had to add another RR to
model).
And if we go back further, to December 81 to the Christmas issue of
RMC. First off the back cover features "The affordable Sn3 K-27" from
PFM. Wow that's a little chunk of history in itself.
