> How do updates to the guide happen after you download?
Hi Michael....Being a low/no tech guy myself, I cannot answer your question. I
can suggest that you go to the X2011 web site and look at all the maroon tabs
at the top of each page. Click the "committee" tab and you will find all sorts
of people listed along with their job responsibilities. I would suggest asking
the Info Tech (IT) or Web Site fellow. They will either know the answer or can
steer you to the right person.

A number if interesting things are happening. Some tours are sold out and so
additional buses are being added. Other tours have been cancelled because of
insufficient ticket sales. Weather even plays a part in all this. For
example, the Donner Pass walking tour is at a high elevation and has a lot of
snow. The road/trail planned for this tour is just about not passable.
Everyone was hoping for some really hot weather to melt off the snow. So what
happens..... right now it is raining in San Francisco which means more snow in
the mountains in another day or two. Things are happening every day and the
best way to keep up with them is via the web site. In theory, the web site and
the guidebook should be in synch, but stuff happens sometimes. Ask a techie
and you will get a better answer than I can provide. Just getting a DC motor
to go forward when I want it to is challenging enough for me.
The S-only bus tour to the Mighty NYC, Impressive UP and Nice Freelance is
almost sold out. Two days ago there were about six spots left. This tour will
not be cancelled since we are well past the breakeven point. It appears that
many non-S guys are on the tour unless they are S folks I do not know.

All I can say is that there will be an award winning caterer serving BBQ ribs,
brisket and chicken Texas-style in the roundhouse on Saturday evening. A
no-host bar will also be there for your pleasure. Who needs a laptop, I-fone,
I-pad, I-anything? Just head for the roundhouse and say "Ed L. sent me". If
you have a ticket, you might even be admitted.
See ya soon....Ed L.
