Quiet Zones is a disaster waiting to happen.
These people who want quiet KNEW the RR was there when they brought a house
near a crossing, RR line or even a airport, as that is a mess here in
Gaithersburg, MD with a airport that has been over 60 years and new homes being
built near and people complaining about the noise of the planes! Good grief.
Mike.

Andre,
Some people do not think when they croos railroad tracks. They are in a hurry to
get somewhere and have brain farts. everyone should know what it takes to stop
a train. It is called momentum.
Quiet zones should have automatic popup baracades that are activated by the
trains as they sound the first horn warning. Just thinking about your anguish.
thanks,
Alan Lambert

Andre,
I can understand that these accidents have a great impact on you, as it would
be for anyone.
Your in Canada I think? What line do you work for, if you can say?

That is correct, Mike.

And I understand that... but it still leaves imprints. To this day my butt
tightens up each time I approach a crossing where I hit someone. I often
violate the 15-20 second rule at those crossings.
