Not arguing what the illustration is, but rather than an HO, they could have
used the O scale Intermountain car, which is a good representation of an actual
AAR
prototype, and the NC&StL lettering scheme was one of the last offerings before
they sold all the dies to Atlas. I have one and like it.

Since the PRS dies seem to be essentially scaled-down versions of the
Intermountain boxcars and refrigerator cars, they would have been an obvious
choice,
had any been available for the project. Given the current bull market for PRS
cars, especially the 40' ones, on the resale market, it would make sense if Ron
Sebastian
could re-run them--although perhaps there the bottleneck might be that he has
sent the dies to the PRC to have production assembled there, and with the mess
caused by
greed there, his access to necessary skilled labor to assemble them has been
cut off. And much as those of us who prefer kits would like to see SSA offer
them unbuilt
again, I suspect market forces indicate that profitability lies in selling them
ready-to-run; if selling kits was a real money-maker it is probable PRS would
not have sold the
line.
