Hi Bob, I started modeling in HO in 1957 and stopped by 1959 and I have a red
CB&Q boxcar in my old car collection so Athearn didn't waste any time getting
that red paint scheme into production. My old 57-58 era model has a blt. date
of 1941 so some of the red cars must have been re-paints of existing boxcars.
It's a quite attractive paint scheme still and I'd use it on any late 50's or
early 60's layout scenario. Regards, Dave Branum
