I've heard this said a lot on the S groups, and I just want to say, in defense of HO, that this is not even REMOTELY true. Next RPM meet you can make it to... make the trip and come back and tell me if you're still living in this dream. The VAST, VAST number of HO model buyers, myself included, modify their HO models in some way long before they reach the layouts, and I saw at least a half dozen completely scratchbuilt models at the last RPM meeting in Port Wentworth, GA.
There is nothing ordinary about HO... except maybe the abundance of supplies and models. Let's look before we leap.
