Lee and David:
Understand completely on modeling earlier era's. My weakness is the 1880's and
1890's. That was an excellent era during railroading's evolution. Though I do
not want to tackle that era in S scale (with workbench models I prefer building
models of equipment I can relate to)... I allow myself to indulge in the 1880's
and 1890's via V scale. (Virtual scale, i.e. computer simulation.)
In V scale, my link n' pins work great... as does my throttle, Johnson Bar,
sanders, air brakes, et al! Gotta' be careful though when decending heavy
grades (as on my V scale Colorado Midland route)... or you can... umm... uhh...
"potty" away your air and away you go! (Ahhhgggghh!!!! LOOK OUT BELOW!!!)
Fun is where you find it!
