Legacy is Circle L's latest and greatest non-compatible contol system. At
least MTH's Proto-3 will operate on DCC...
Although Lionel is a better company than it was a few years ago(IMHO), they
still seem to rely more on name recognition than product and the end user.
Rework to DC should be a couple of snips and rewire, then try to unload the
electronics on a Flyer or Lionel guy.
I suppose it's nice that it can be converted to scale, Lionel makes NO attempt
to offer scale wheels to the O-gauge world, but still I would have preferred
the scale wheels be included, as originally cataloged.
While I'm getting a U33C for my HiRail adventures, I for one am less enthused
about getting one for scalifying now.
