I haven't built a Leigh Valley (Frank Titman) kit in a few years. Last
night after dinner, I decided to set up for a photo I've been wanting to
do. I needed a brakeman to 'pose' for me, so I dug out my people
stash. I then came across a forklift kit that I obtained recently and
thought it might make a good 'one evening' project.

We've always marveled at what Frank put into a kit from everyday items.
Obviously, most of the kit contains wood chunks, but a dress snap, a
bent Campbell lamp shade, two spikes and two stick pins became
believable detail items. Before coming in this morning, I painted it
with the sanding primer from Floquil. I'll do some fine sanding and
final painting tonite. It's nice to be able to finish a project without
letting it drag on for months!

Year's ago we were joking about a typical kit in S; it's when the
instructions tell you to take a block of wood and carve away anything
that doesn't look like a boxcar! Those were the days!
