SHABBONA RR is a medium-size Class I railroad set in the late 1950's. I use
rolling stock appropriate to that era because it is more trouble free to
operate (so was the prototype, but that is another story. . .), which I do a
LOT of.

Trains run about thirteen to fifteen cars in length, which is about what my
eyes can take in, and therefore they appear authentic with the 36" curves and
#6 switches I use.

You can't have it all. Even if you have a civic center to build it in, you
could never finish or maintain it to satisfaction, and it would become a
millstone around your [protoypically correct] neck.

I will say this though, today's accepted practices are yesterday's pioneering
efforts, and far be it for me to criticize anybody who is trying to raise the
bar to a level the rest of us can enjoy.
