This is very true, and very unfortunate.  It is caused by the majority of S 
gaugers thinking of themselves strictly as S gaugers, not model railroaders.

The reverse is not true, as one could easily ascertain if one would venture to 
participate  --  the NMRA is not irrelevant to any minority scale, definitely 
not to S scale.

It's all a matter of attitude, positive or negative, as determined by your 
basic personality.
