Hello fellow S Scale enthusiasts, just checking in to say hey. Last week the
Pines and Prairies folks stopped over. We had another good meeting here, the
guys are actually coming over with things to do and we do things rather than
just chat. I didn't get much time since then to do anything. The track
building department reworked a curved turnout made for the Burlington and
started laying out a lapped turnout also for the Burlington yard facility. I
created some of the components but needed to create the frogs so I went over to
visit Jeff Saine who has my turnout tooling for the number 5. This was a great
visit, Jeff has moved the laundry room upstairs and now has much more space for
his layout and work room. He also has a great little table top belt sander so
know I can see how he gets the turnouts done so fast. About five minutes and I
had two frogs done! Wow.
Tonight I began assembly and the outside structure is done leaving me the
diverging trackwork to complete. So far it seems pretty straight forward, I
expect it to work well and save Steve a significant amount of space in his
yard. Steve is the king of putting 10 lbs in a 5 lb bag. I may have some time
Friday morning to work on it, for a Monday install. Well, time to check out.
Be well and have fun.
