On my first job out of college, I was assigned to conduct a study of forklift
efficiency. Although young and inexperienced, I was thinking out of the box
and came up with so many new idea that a USAF Colonel said that he almost got
reprimanded for not thinking of these ideas himself since he was responsible
for forklifts in the warehousing operation. Ultimately, about 6 or 7 forklifts
were transferred to Viet Nam where they were desparately needed. The local
USAF base did not need them any more after implementing some new ideas from the
greenhorn efficiency expert just hired. Memories are fun -- especially for old
geezers like me. Cheers....Ed L.
