Maybe we all need to wait and see what the MTH SD70's look like and then do a 
comparison of the 2 and see which one is the better choice. Looks like  Mike 
wants to see if Lionel will step up with thier detail orietated toward the 
scale side so parts wont have to be added later. Just my thoughts.

It's a shame that a gentleman's agreement does not exist. In fact, it wouldn't 
even have to be a gentleman's agreement, just plain common sense will do very 
nicely. If Lionel already has the SD70 on the market, why in blazes duplicate 
that locomotive considering how thin the market is and how tenuous the 
prospects for sufficient profit?

MTH could produce plenty of locomotives that have not yet entered the market, 
from both earlier times and current production. What utter nonsense to 
duplicate what Lionel is doing! I thought people in executive positions had 
more sense than that. That's why they are where they are. Apparently, that is 
an unfounded assumption on my part.

I think the days of gentleman's agreement of "If you're doing it, I won't" are 
now over.
